I was fortunate to study with some truly inspiring teachers who taught me about the instrument, about music, and about life in general - including for 3 years with the renowned Alan Dawson, in Lexington, MA. I love to share what I've learned, and I find I always learn from my students as well.
I have found that a good basis in snare drum (hand) technique, some jazz technique/coordination, and basic music reading skills will benefit any drummer. That said, I design each course of study based on what you, the student, wants to learn and what your goals are. If you have favorite drummers or bands or songs, let's dig in and see what makes them sound that way! I am happy to teach complete beginners through advanced jazz, rock and blues players - children or adults.
